back to hard evidence!

Okay, so as if the videos and pictures I’ve posted weren't wiry enough, I have found more evidence! I have found some new information about another house on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa. Another house has been said to have spirits in it! The story behind this house is similar to the haunted house closer to Gate 2. Both houses are said to be haunted by two different families. The difference between the two is that this house is also haunted by late worries that fought and protected the kingdom. People of the base that pass by claim to have seen a worrier on an horse riding through the living room and children playing in one room while a women washes her hair in the sink by a window. Many stories have been told of this house and ghost hunters went to this house on Halloween one year and tried to call and a ghost, any ghost, to come and talk. Harry Houdini was seasoned to the house but it was two children that were seen. These two children's ghost shapes were also caught on tape! It just got real people!!

It doesn't get anymore real, people!

To conclude this blog, I first want to restate myself from the first postings; yes... i do believe in the island of Okinawa being haunted!! Not only did hundreds of deaths happen because of the war and suicides but also the culture and beliefs are very spiritual so I believe that that enhances the possibilities of more haunting there. All of the haunting and stories that I have heard from there are very interesting to me but the Shah Bay hotel is my favorite! After reading these posting and going to the given links I hope you understand more of the hauntings on Okinawa, Japan.

Don't believe it yet?

Well my favorite evidence is the visual kind. I’ve decided to post lots of pictures of Shah Bay that I took myself while I was there and also videos of the gate 2 ghost at Kadena Air Base. This first picture is at the hotel. While tour around with friends my eye was caught by this old, sun-bleached kid bike. This picture feels so empty to me yet it also shows a sign of life at one time. This picture is so contradicting to me that it is creepy. Everything is still set up as if there were people in it yesterday... or even today. Another thing that convinced me of some kind of haunting there is the fact that even the locals are afraid to talk about it. Grown men and women are afraid to talk about an abounded hotel!! Creepy!! Now on to the Gate two ghost. Although there is no written story for sure behind it, just like the hotel, but the fact that the story has been kept alive for many years and the ghost has been caught on tape convinces me! I think of all ghosts on the island the gate 2 ghost has been seen the most because of its prompt timing every night.

Houses, Hotels, Hospitals, and ever other corner you turn...

Okinawa has hundreds of haunting stories. I would like to focus on a couple of my favorites: the gate 2 Ghost, and Shabay Hotel. First, the story of the Ghost at Gate 2 of Kadena Air Base. From living there for quite awhile I have heard that there is a ghost that walks around the guards' stand promptly at 12:00 AM everyday. no one is sure why the ghost goes there, but it is said to be a former military member. The ghost has not hurt anyone but had been caught on camera. A video from the security cameras show that this ghost loves the attention (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9S8pAqAWZko). Second, is a hotel called Shabay Hotel. The story to this hotel is the most interesting to me because i went a saw it myself. I was very curious of the history behind it and the stories so I asked around at a local restaurant there in Okinawa and most of the older Okinawans shunned me away and told me to not go there. Finally, after i spent the whole day looking for someone to tell me at least a little bit of information on it i found out that the hotel was meant to become a high class hotel. it was built in the high hills with beautiful cherry blossom trees all around it. when the builder started to build it is said that he did not have an actual plan or layout, he was almost free handing it. After the construction was started he was warned of a cave under the grounds and was then told to stop building. he ignored the warnings and continued to build. The hotel opened and 100 rooms were available at first. guests complained of unexplained noises and missing items and again it was over looked. the construction of the hotel was not questioned until people started to kill themselves there. With this information I was determined to find out more. I have looked up this hotel on google and yahoo and each time i get no results. i think it is very creepy that i cant find any written information on it, as if someone is trying to hide information. and why are all the older people from Okinawa scared to talk about it? i know it it real!! i have been there!! my dad took bath towels and brought them home!! the towels say shabay hotle just the the front of the hotel does!

The background of the spirits on Okinawa

"There were about 100,000 Japanese killed or captured; many preferred suicide to the disgrace of capture," explains a sight of World War 2. During this time, April through June, 1945,  death was mostly caused by the war but also because of suicide. spirits of the dead are said to be angered so staying away from the haunted places is highly recommended by the locals. The main cause of all the hype of after life and the dead is because of the shaman-ism beliefs. "Shamanism is an intentional effort on the part of the practitioner to develop ongoing relationships with otherworldly beings and to keep the lines of communication open," said Clay Miller in an interview. A great respect had been found for the dead and spirits on the island of Okinawa. Mainly the older Okinawans are very against interfering with the spirits because they do not want to be disrespectful at all. As more and more generations are learn about the stories and hunting's they become curious. Some of the new generations do not believe in the stories as much as other but for many, they saw proof of what their grandparents and parents had told them while they were children.
